In collaboration with the city of Coeur d’Alene and a private contractor, the Idaho Transportation department is filling the hole on West Marie Avenue according to Public Information Officer Megan Jahns.
Because the contractor had taken over some of the communications responsibilities, Jahns didn’t know everything about the whole reclamation, but she was aware of some facts.
Jahns told me that the contractors were only planning to fill the hole to seventy-five percent of its total capacity.
While the hole is being refilled, there is no plan for it afterward. That is a bridge that will have to be crossed when it is come to.
The contract for the refilling runs out on August first, so it should be filled to the planned seventy-five percent by that time.
